What are skin tags?
It is a small amount of tissue or skin growth. They are small, skin-colored growths that hang from the skin. Skin tags are commonly found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts.
Dr. Birchall uses the Sciton® laser for quick and easy in-office removal for small lesions. For large skin tags, those over a half an inch, surgical excision with local anesthetic works best. The base of the skin tag frequently needs sutures or stitches. Excision results in a small, linear flat scar which can be minimized after healing with laser scar treatment.

Your skin will be cleansed. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or laser goggles. Dr. Birchall will place the pencil-laser hand piece near the skin and aim the laser on the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually is less than 1 to 3 minutes per mole.
